What is Potato Dust and how does it work?

Kendon Potato Dust is a mancozeb-based fungicide for cut seed potatoes. It controls seed piece decay and suppresses common scab. Always read the label before use.

Apply at 200g–400g per 100kg cut seed pieces (2–4kg/tonne), depending on state and local guidance. Dust seed liberally and ensure all surfaces are covered. (See Application Guide table above for details)

Do not plant treated seed in cold, wet soils. Use only certified seed and sterilise cutting tools between lots to avoid disease spread.

Treated seed must only be sown, not used for food, feed, or fodder. Do not allow livestock access to treated seed. Keep away from fish and streams, rivers and waterways. Always follow label safety and protection instructions.

Store in a sealed container, dry/cool place away from sunlight. Shake empty bag into dusting container. Puncture, shred and bury empty containers in landfill as per local regulations—never burn. See label for disposal instructions.

Repeated use of Group M3 fungicides can lead to resistance. Where appropriate, rotate with products from different fungicide groups and incorporate integrated disease management strategies. Always refer to the label for official use directions.

Treated seed potatoes are for planting only. Do not eat or feed to animals. Store and label clearly to avoid contamination.

Avoid inhaling dust, wear gloves and mask, wash hands after use. May irritate eyes, nose, throat and skin. For poisoning, contact Poisons Centre (13 11 26).
